Basekamp is a non-commercial organization of participants researching and co-developing interdisciplinary, self-organized art projects with other individuals and groups in various authorship-blurring configurations. From 1998-2011 the Philadelphia space served as a home base. Since 2011, the group continues to make temporary camps in various locations. Domestic and international collaborative groups are invited to develop new models of relations within overlapping art communities. The goal is to propose ongoing collaboration as a practical and theoretical stance and to participate in its evolution. The Basekamp organization has been facilitator in many Philly Public School courses during the last two years, including Creating a Community Museum, Storytelling with Dennis Strain, The Philadelphia Lendry and Playing, Making, Recording.
