Recipes for Nourishment began as a conversation between organizers Michael G. Bauer and Allison Danielle Behrstock and evolved into a three day pedagogical exploration in collaboration with the The School of the Future, July 1st - 31st, 2010. Allison and Michael facilitated group discussions and activities honoring the importance of interdependence within the creative process as well as everyday lives. Nourishment was viewed through a broad lens relating to such themes as personal and social accountability, ecological business principles, ethical use of public space and the generosity of living one's passion. Each day began at Sgt. William Dougherty Park and traveled to different locations by walking, taking the subway or through spontaneous bicycle and car caravans. Locations included Socrates Sculpture Park, The Newton Creek Sewage Treatment Plant and Mast Brothers Chocolate. Conversations and experiences were recorded to create a final collage 'diary'.
